Hello friends,
and yes, you've made it to the fourth and final part of this series: congratulations! "Whatever next?", I hear you moan, but shut up, I've enjoyed this series a great deal, it brought back some great memories for me (what a fat lot of use this is to you, isn't it?) plus some songs I haven't heard in quite a while.
Heike L. lived in a village east of Aachen and was somewhat involved in the local Mod/Scooter scene, which had their 'basis' there. All of those people were simply fantastic and I only wish I knew what has become of them over the years. Alas I have lost contact to my mate who worked with her at the time (when I was about 28), that's if memory serves correctly. If I ever meet him again, my first question will be about Heike, that's for sure! A very cute girl with an exceptional taste in music and her tape proves me right! Below you just have two mindblowing tracks out of a dozen, I would have a hard time in picking a favourite, that's for sure. Especially the Vapors' tune does it for me, I mean, everybody can sing along to fucking 'Turning Japanese', but nobody can see that 'Spring Collection' is the song that should've deserved it's (relatively) fame!
mp3: Heike L.: The Times - 'Red With Purple Flashes' ('81)
mp3: Heike L.: The Vapors - 'Spring Collection' ('80)
Heike used a Sony IEC II 90 and - as I said before - I have no idea what happened to her. Alas! Tape was given to me in 1996 or thereabouts ....
Last but not least Heidi C., and we were together for a very short while when I was 18 or 19. I mean, all of us were into New Wave and Gothic back then, but she would always be dressed in black, have a perfectly shaved neck plus the according haircut, and I mean always! She wouldn't even go to the lavatory without putting on some kohl first! The fact that she always looked so perfectly styled really makes me wonder what she saw in me back then ... I mean, I was just a kid compared to her! We never had sex, so it must have been my record collection ... this though comes from hers:
mp3: Heidi C.: The Beat - 'Twist And Crawl' ('80)
mp3: Heidi C.: Bram Tchaikovsky - 'Girl Of My Dreams' ('79)
Heidi used a Maxell XLII-S 90, the tape must have been given to me in 1986 or 1987. She used to do some kindergarten/educational thingy afterwards, whether I am still up to date with this information I don't know. If you know more about that or indeed if she's still dressed in black, please let me know ...
Alright, this ends this little series. Loads of useless information plus some old music, as usual. But nevertheless I had my fun and I hope you enjoyed it too.
It would really be awesome if you'd let me know if this was the case or not!
Take good care,
Dirk

Dirk buddy, this series has been one of your all-time greatest highlights. And Heidi sounds lovely. I always had a thing for goth girls.....
I'm with theRobster. Based on these two songs, Heidi is the girl of my dreams. I bet Walter will have a thing for her too.
Absolutely inspired series Dirk. To say "we've all been there" would of course be a total lie.
The series of 95 - so far
Make that 2015!
I'm a little bit in love with Heidi.
